Built on a hill, preserving its traditional form, adjacent Xanthi enchants visitors every time they walk its narrow alleys. It is one of the largest traditional towns in Greece that preserves its stately and majestic character.

The Old Town of Xanthi is of great historical interest. It was characterised as traditional town in 1978 and is one of the best preserved architectural complexed in Macedonia and Thrace.

In the Old Town (listed town) you can visit the mansions, the Folklore Museum, the house of Hatzidakis, the Lyceum of Greek Women, the Pavlidis Art Gallery, and the Monastery of Archaggeliotissa – Ecclesiastical Museum.
